Morrison Spowart Solicitors specialises in family law, housing and crime. We also have a department for wills and probate and community care work.

We actively assist those groups of clients who we believe traditionally have had difficulties accessing legal provision. We specifically assist by offering legal services for the elderly and disabled clients. Our office has disabled access and we can offer home visits if necessary. We work together with local voluntary sector community groups to assist the elderly and disabled clients.

We are aware that many of our clients have never instructed solicitors before and we offer friendly, sympathetic advice whilst at the same time our aim is to protect clients interests and offer a professional service. We pride ouselves on the fact that all our staff have good "people skills" and we advise our clients using every day language to ensure that they fully understand what is often a very complex legal situation.

We have public funding franchises for most of our work. This means that we have been audited and approved by the Legal Services Commission (formally the Legal Aid Board) and are recognised by the Commission as being a quality firm.

We will try to make an initial appointment as soon as possible and if your situation is urgent, we can offer emergency appointments. Where you believe you are at risk, for example if you need an injunction against a partner, then we will endeavour to offer you an immediate appointment.

We are open from 9.30am to 5.00pm (closed between 1.00pm and 2.00pm for lunch).

Our offices have disabled access and we also offer home visits where necessary.

We operate however, a 24 hour telephone service for very urgent cases, for example, if you have been detained at a police station.

We offer very competitive prices to those who are not eligable for public funding and we will always advise our clients if they are eligable for public funding with or without a contribution.
